How To Set Up An Instagram Business Profile
Whether they’re looking for inspiration, entertainment, or information, online users are drawn to Instagram. All content on the platform is images and videos, which has made it popular among the 18-to-29 age group.
There are now 1 billion monthly active users on Instagram. This means quality matters more than ever — great news for businesses who have professional content creators at their disposal. To start developing your own brand presence on the platform, you need an Instagram business account.
Step 1: Create a Page on Facebook
You need a Facebook page before you can set up a business profile for Instagram. Check out these instructions for how to create one.
Step 2: Set Up an Instagram Profile
You’ll need to create a regular Instagram profile initially. Sign up with the email address you want to associate with the business account or use your Facebook account to sign up.
Step 3: Switch to a Business Account
Once you’ve set up a profile, you can immediately switch to a business account. In settings, check that your profile is not set to private and then find the option “Switch to Business Account.”
Choose “Continue As” to connect your account to your Facebook page — you’ll need to be an admin of the page to do this.
Step 4: Complete Your Profile
To finish setting up your business profile, add information like your email, phone number, and address. You’ll have the option to import these from Facebook to save time. You’ll also need a profile picture, which will appear 110 by 110 pixels. Use a square photo for the best effect. Similarly, you should upload the correct size of images whenever you post content.
With your profile set up, it’s time to start posting. Experiment with all sorts of images and videos, getting creative to turn ideas into visuals that engage your audience.
